The 23rd North Carolina State Troops is an organization of people dedicated to our Civil War heritage through Skirmishing. The 23rd is part of the Carolina Region, which is one of the 13 regions of the North-South Skirmish Association.

Our Mission

The 23rd promotes shooting of Civil War firearms and artillery and encourages the preservation and display of Civil War materials.




Becoming a Member

To become a member of the 23rd NC you get aquainted with members and are then recommended
by a member to one of the unit officials and are then offered application for membership in the N-SSA.
